How many weeks from a contest do you eliminate a cheat meal (assuming you take on).

It depends. There's no firm answer on this. In my past preps it has been as far out as 9 weeks and as close as 3. Just depends on how well I'm leaning out.

Thanks for the response. I am 14 weeks out and I feel guilty when I have my cheat meal. I should really try to enjoy them now while I can. I enjoy them as I eat them but feel so guilty afterwards. And it is not like I am eating a whole pizza or anything like that. Thanks!

I haven't had a cheat meal in over 5 months and mentally I feel better for not having it. Now I look forward to other things: an off day, time with friends, shopping, etc instead of food that I would feel guilty right afterwards for eating.

My last contest prep I had a cheat meal once a week, and this prep there is none. I am much happier and more stable this time around for sure. I say eliminate it altogether.

After my show, it'll be a whole other story though! :)

Iron siren thanks. After the mental anguish yesterday. along with the stomach discomfort that requied large doses of tums, I am thinking I am going to eliminate them as well. Thanks!

My go to guide for clean cheating is Clean Eating Magazine. I look forward to making something new and it is all clean, whole foods. The recipes I make for the cheat isn't something I would normally eat through the week, but I don't have to feel guilty about it. Today I'm making Windy City Deep Dish Pizza...yummm.

Thanks. I have a sub to that mag as well. Good suggestion. My last cheat meal was a Greek style chicken that I made and a salad with "real" lo-fat dressing. So not much of a cheat but it still upset me nonetheless. Maybe sushi next time it is :)
