Hi Ladies...I did my first competition last June and really enjoyed every moment. I must say, it will be time soon to prepare for a second in the upcoming 2010 season..As all of you who have competed know, it's such a mental preparation...did anyone find they had a tough time getting psychologically motivated? I know it's a choice and it's not something I have to do and I loved the experience but the nights of feeling so hungry, sometimes waking up in the middle of the night because my body wanted more food, the balls to the wall workouts...etc...it's a lot...did anyone have a tougher time on their 2nd prep as opposed to the first...any mental tricks to help you out?

Thanks in advance Ladies...blessings...Jill

Hey Jill,

Well I am not yet prepping for a second show, but I do wonder the same thing. I think the excitement of the unknown during dieting/training for my first show really helped me stay on track! At the same time having already experienced it, I think 2nd prep may be easier, and being on stage definitely more comfortable than the first show. Hope you'll get more responses, I'm curious too! All the best with your show prep. When will you start?

I've done a lot of shows, and I feel each contest you learn something new about your body. I didn't find that it was harder second times around (or 3rd, 4th...so on) then the first one. You learn to correct mistakes and you learn more in general.

Thank you so much Jelena and Miss Fit for your responses. I'm in my third week of prepping and it's going fine..the foods I eat are all foods I love and typically eat so no issue there..it's the little extras that I miss but anything worth doing requires some sacrifice.

I also am doing an intensive fitness certification, Forza, which is a group fitness class with a wooden bokken (sword). It's the hardest certification I've done since it requires a lot of practice..so between the two, and clients and classes and my son and husband..my cup runeth over but I thrive on that kind of thing. I've seen the changes in my body already so of course that's motivating me as well...Good luck to you in the upcoming 2010 season..Blessings...Jill
